Fukushima firms showcase renewable energy technologies at European fair in Germany

The Fukushima prefectural government and companies in the region participated in "E-World Energy & Water," one of Europe's largest energy industry fairs, from Feb. 11 to 13 in Essen in the German state of North Rhein-Westphalia. The Japanese participants set up a joint booth at the fair, offering information on technologies and products associated with renewable energy and other themes.

Represented at the fair were Aizu Computer Science Laboratories, Inc. (based in Aizuwakamatsu city), Anest Iwata Corp. (based in Yokohama, Kanagawa Pref., with a plant in Yabuki town, Fukushima Pref.), Fujikura Composites Inc. (based in Tokyo with a plant in Minamisoma city, Fukushima Pref.), Tohoku Murata Manufacturing Co. (Koriyama city), Yamato Sanko Mfg. Co. (based in Tokyo with a plant in Yabuki), and Iwaki Cooperative Support Networks Association or ICSN (Iwaki city).

Ahead of the fair, the participants held a seminar on renewable energy in Duesseldorf on Feb. 10, publicizing the status of the energy sector and related industries in Fukushima.
